Privacy-First Approach: TrueHue is designed with privacy at its core. For shoppers, all display calibration settings are stored locally in your browser only—we never collect, store, or transmit your calibration data or any personally identifiable information. For merchants, we collect only the minimum business information necessary to provide our service.

By using TrueHue, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1.1 Information from Merchants

When you install TrueHue on your Shopify store, we collect the following information from Shopify:

Business Information:

• Shop domain and name
• Business owner name
• Business email address
• Business phone number
• Business address (street address, city, province/state, country, postal/zip code)

Store Configuration:

• Shopify plan type
• Store currency and timezone
• TrueHue configuration settings (calibration tool placement, appearance options)

Subscription Information:

• Billing plan and subscription status
• Payment history (processed by Shopify; we do not store payment card details)

Technical Identifiers:

• Shopify store ID
• App installation timestamp

1.2 Information from Shoppers

We Do NOT Collect Shopper Personal Information: TrueHue does not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information from shoppers. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Names, email addresses, or contact information
• IP addresses or device identifiers
• Browsing history or shopping behavior
• Any calibration settings or values
• Any information that could identify you as an individual

Local Browser Storage: Your display calibration settings (gamma, saturation, tint, white balance, visibility) are stored exclusively in your web browser's localStorage. This means:

• Your calibration data never leaves your device
• No calibration data is transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers
• The merchant whose store you are visiting cannot access your calibration settings
• Your settings persist only in the current browser on the current device
• Your settings are automatically deleted if you clear your browser data

1.3 Anonymous Usage Analytics

While your calibration settings remain private in your browser, we collect minimal anonymous usage statistics to help merchants understand the value of our service. We record:

• That a calibration event occurred (without storing actual settings or values)
• General device type (desktop, mobile, or tablet)
• Date and time of the event
• Association with the merchant's shop

This anonymous data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual shoppers or link events to specific people across sessions or devices.

Merchant Information: We use merchant business information to:

• Provide and maintain the TrueHue calibration service on your store
• Process billing and manage your subscription
• Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
• Send important updates about the app, including service notifications and feature updates
• Improve and optimize our application
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service

Anonymous Analytics: We use anonymous usage statistics to provide merchants with insights into how shoppers are using the calibration feature and to improve our service.

Shopper Calibration Data: We have no shopper calibration data to share because it is stored only in your browser and never transmitted to our servers.

Merchant Business Information: We do not sell, trade, or rent merchant business information to third parties. We may share merchant information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers: We share information with trusted service providers who assist in operating our application:

• Shopify - Our platform provider (Shopify Privacy Policy)
• Gadget - Our hosting and database infrastructure provider (Gadget Privacy Policy)

Legal Obligations: We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations, court orders, or government requests.

Business Transfers: In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, you would be notified beforehand.

Active Accounts: We retain merchant business information and anonymous usage analytics as long as TrueHue is installed on your Shopify store.

Upon Uninstallation: When you uninstall TrueHue, all your merchant business information and all associated anonymous usage analytics are automatically deleted from our systems. We also respond to Shopify's GDPR webhooks (shop/redact) to ensure complete data removal.

Shopper Data: Your calibration settings are stored in your browser's localStorage indefinitely until you clear your browser data, delete localStorage, or uninstall/reset your browser. Since we do not store your calibration data on our servers, we cannot delete it for you—you have full control through your browser settings.

• Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission
• Encryption at rest for stored merchant data
• Access controls and authentication for our systems
• Regular security reviews and updates
• Hosting with reputable infrastructure providers (Gadget/AWS)

For shoppers, your calibration settings are protected by your browser's built-in security features. Since your calibration data never leaves your device, it is not subject to network-based security risks.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

For Shoppers: Since we do not collect or store any of your personal data on our servers (all calibration settings are in your browser only), there is no personal data for us to access, modify, or delete. You have full control over your calibration data through your browser settings.

For Merchants: Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your business information under data protection laws, including:

• The right to access your personal information
• The right to rectify inaccurate information
• The right to request deletion of your information (fulfilled automatically upon uninstallation)
• The right to object to processing of your information
• The right to data portability
• The right to withdraw consent

Legal Bases: For merchants in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we process your business information based on:

• Contractual necessity (to provide TrueHue services)
• Legitimate interests (to improve our service and provide support)
• Legal obligations (to comply with applicable laws)

International Transfers: Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the EEA/UK. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, including relying on Shopify's and Gadget's data processing agreements and standard contractual clauses.

• Right to Know: You have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to Delete: You have the right to request deletion of your personal information (automatically fulfilled upon uninstallation for merchants; shoppers have no data stored on our servers).
• Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information.
• No Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

For merchants accessing the TrueHue admin interface, Shopify may use cookies as part of their platform. Please refer to Shopify's privacy policy for more information.

For merchants, we may also send an email notification of significant changes. Your continued use of TrueHue after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
